Porya Hatami | Aaron Martin | Roberto Attanasio - Sallaw (2019) EN

The joined power of three artists: Porya Hatami from Iran, Aaron Martin from Kansas and Roberto Attanasio from Italy produced a fantastically atmospheric album filled with world-class ambient. This is Sallaw.

The album's title, just like the titles of each track is in Kurdish language, just for anyone for whom there was not enough of the culture mixture already. Meanwhile, the music is beautiful, although rather traditional ambient. There's a lot of tension built with the omnipresent noise in the backgrounds. There's also sadness provided by the lamenting strings and rainy keys. And finally, there is also a lot of music emotions that can hardly be found in other similar projects.

Minor Movements - Bloom (2019) EN

Minor Movements is undoubtedly one of the most interesting post-rock debuts of the last months. After they just appeared on the blog with their single We Dreamed to Each Other, they are the topic of another post thanks to their debut LP called Bloom.

The project was started as an exposition for the solo works of Nic Brant, but it quickly turned out that nothing makes a project so dynamic as artists with various views on music. But still, their view on post-rock is homogeneous: for the, it's "brilliant, beautiful, moving, inspiring thing to behold, something that can speak to anyone anywhere, a full spectrum of soundscapes that has the power to make the world a little bit smaller". And this approach is so well implemented on the album,

It's started with the familiar sounds of the single after which there's the title track Bloom. Here the Americans showed that they know how to build up tension and leading the audience from the ambient soundscapes up to the ecstatic finish. Those kind of atmospheric compositions is the band's best side. It is only confirmed in the next pieces led by the very loud Clouds of Smoke and A Light Above.

Minor Movements - Bloom (2019) PL

Minor Movements to bez wątpienia jeden z ciekawszych post-rockowych debiutów ostatnich miesięcy. Po tym jak całkiem niedawno gościli na blogu z singlem We Dreamed to Each Other, zostają bohaterami następnego posta dzięki wydanej właśnie debiutanckiej długogrającej płyty Bloom.

Projekt zaczynał jako szyld dla solowej twórczości gitarzysty Nika Branta, ale szybko okazało się, ze nic tak nie dodaje dynamiki jak artyści z różnymi pomysłami na muzykę. Natomiast spojrzenie na post-rock mają jedno, jest on dla nich "wspaniała, piękna, poruszająca, inspirująca rzecz do ujrzenia, coś, co przemawia do każdego, w każdym miejscu, pełne spektrum muzycznych pejzaży, które ma moc sprawienia, że świat staje się odrobinę mniejszy". I to podejście czuć na albumie.

Zaczyna się on znajomymi dźwiękami singla, po którym następuje tytułowy Bloom. W tym kawałku Amerykanie pokazali, ze wiedzą na czym polega powolne budowanie napięcia, prowadzenie słuchacza od ambientowych pejzaży aż po ekstatyczny finisz. To właśnie klimatyczne kompozycje są największym atutem zespołu. Sprawdza się to w kolejnych kawałkach z bardzo głośnym Clouds of Smoke czy A Light Above na czele.

Wander - March (2019) EN

Another comeback to the blog after many months, this time it's the Californian Wander that shows the new album. The band that mesmerized the audience with their last EP Glass, didn't lose anything from their magic.

As the band themselves write, March deals with the theme of "childhood nostalgia and channels feelings of hope to overcome obstacles in life, emotional and physical". This not-so-easy material is embedded within long instrumental tracks that simply implode with emotions. It doesn't matter if it's the chaotic and very loud title March, ecstatically finished Catch, delicate Daydreamer, or in the finalizing the album Eveleth. Wander is a show of sad, but most importantly powerful music and they confirm it not for the first time.

Kolejny powrót po wielu miesiącach na blog, tym razem to kalifornijskie Wander pokazuje nową płytę. Zespół, który zaczarował post-rockową publiczność swoją poprzednią EP-ką Glass, nie stracił nic z formy.

Jak pisze sam zespół, March zajmuje się tematem "nostalgii za dzieciństwem i czerpie z poczucia nadziei, że można dać sobie rade z życiowych przeciwności, zarówno tymi emocjonalnymi jak i fizycznymi". Ten niełatwy materiał zamknięty jest w długich instrumentalnych kawałkach wprost kipiących od emocji. Czy to w chaotycznym i bardzo hałaśliwym tytułowym March, ekstatycznie zakończonym Catch, łagodny Daydreamer, czy w końcu w zamykającym całość Eveleth. Wander to pokaz smutnego, ale przede wszystkim potężnego instrumentalnego grania i potwierdzają to nie po raz pierwszy.

Haze of Summer - Stuzha (2019) EN

Hipster black metal band from Russia is back! Their album Znoi from before one and half year was my 2017's number one from the heavier sounds, the new album called, Stuzha, is about to copy its success.

The band known for their pastel cover arts and absolutely catchy face of black metal adds to their music some not very metal but at the same time very Russian instruments. As apart from heavy guitars and the sea of synth sounds, you can hear accordion and balalaika, not to mention saxophone, violins or trombone. There's no doubt that the Russians continue their unique sound reached on Znoi as they confirm saying that they started to compose the new tracks right after the last album was released.

Still, they can surprise. Like with the very complex trumpet section in October (Old Mornings Dawn). Or by cooperating with Alexandrą Sidorovą, the vocalist of the band Zmey Gorynich, in September. Or with the amazing duet with the project usually coping with Witch House music called... Summer of Haze in December with the lyrics by Alexander Pushkin. And, as tradition has it, with a cameo by Brian Molko. Can you think of a crazier thing?

Hipsterowi black metalowcy z Rosji powracają! Ich album Znoi sprzed półtora roku był moim numerem jeden w 2017 jeśli chodzi o cięższe brzmienia, nowa płyta, Stuzha, ma spore szanse powtórzyć ten wyczyn.

Zespół spod znaku pastelowych okładek i znakomicie chwytliwej odmiany black metalu dołącza do swojej muzyki mało metalowe ale bardzo rosyjskie instrumentarium. Bo obok ciężkich gitar i morza syntezatorów, na płycie usłyszeć można i akordeon i bałałajkę a do tego również saksofon, skrzypce czy puzon. Bez wątpienia Rosjanie kontynuują swoje brzmienie osiągnięte na Znoi, jak przyznają zresztą, utwory na nową płytę zaczęli komponować tuż po wydaniu poprzedniej.

Niemniej wciąż potrafią zaskoczyć. Na przykład rozbudowaną sekcją dętą w October (Old Mornings Dawn). Albo kooperacją z Aleksandrą Sidorową z zespołu Zmey Gorynich w September. Czy w końcu niezwykłą współpracą z produkującym Witch House projektem... Summer of Haze w December ze słowami Aleksandra Puszkina. I, tradycyjnie, z cameo Briana Molko. Czy dałoby się wymyślić bardziej zwariowany zestaw?

"Warm soundscapes from the heart of Russia", Tambov-based band released a short album filled with atmospheric guitar music. Good stuff. Two tracks for whatever you pay.

Glåsbird - Grønland (2019) PL

Glåsbird to zupełnie anonimowy artysta, ale na szczęście robi tak dobry ambient, że nie trzeba do szczęście nic więcej. Bo dobrze przyjętej debiutanckiej EP-ce Drift Stations pokazuje (pokazują?) on (ona? oni?) debiutancki krążek Grønland.

EP-ka była podróżą na wody Oceanu Arktycznego, tym razem wędrujemy jeszcze dalej, na ogromną Grenlandię. Ideą płyty jest stworzenie ścieżki dźwiękowej do nieistniejącego filmu pokazujący tę wyspę z bliska. Jego namiastką jest zdjęcia na okładce dostarczone przez fotografa Lennarta Pagela. Siłą muzyka jest tworzenie ambientowo-neoklasycznych kompozycji, które nie tylko zachwycają pięknem smyczków, klawiszy i sampli, ale też opowiadają swoją, mroczną i mroźną, ale także przepiękną historię.

Glåsbird is an entirely anonymous artist but fortunately the ambient he makes is so good that there's nothing more to need. After a well-received debut EP called Drift Stations he (she? they?) shows his (her? their?) debut LP Grønland.

The EP was a sound journey to the depths of the Arctic Ocean, now we'll wander even further, to the huge island of Greenland. The album's idea was to create a soundtrack to non-existent movie showing this place in its whole majesty. It starts from the cover art photo provided by photograph Lennart Pagel. The music's strength is the ability to create ambient-neoclassical compositions that don't only inspire with the beauty of strings, keys and samples but also tell their own dark and cold but also beautiful story.

Kenopsia - Urban Passionplay (2019) EN

Kenopsia is a solo project from the Canadian Nathan Guerrette whose another work is black metal Great Cold Emptiness. This time though, to his loud guitars he adds a lot of soothing electronics making urban soundscapes on his new album Urban Passionplay.

As the title suggests, the album has both passion in form of epic guitars and sounds reminding of a journey through a city landscape at night. The whole album is drowned in keyboard music adding to it smoothness and pleasant vibe. Guerette himself writes that it is "urban, emotional, personal and introspective" and no wonder it is as it was being created for a decade. The artist filled it with feelings, admitting that his inspirations included emotions that accompany a long-distance relationship and loneliness. And also, as the final track High Heels proves, Blade Runner. It's absolutely worth it to join him in this ride through neon-filled city streets.

Kenopsia - Urban Passionplay (2019) PL

Kenopsia to solowy projekt Kanadyjczyka Nathana Guerrette, który stoi też za black metalowym Great Cold Emptiness. Tym razem jednak do głośnych gitar dokłada on dużo kojącej elektroniki produkując urbanistyczny pejzaż na nowym albumie Urban Passionplay.

Tak jak tytuł zapowiadał, na krążku mamy i pasję w postaci podniosłych gitar jak i dźwięki przywodzące na myśl podróż przez miejski krajobraz nocą. Cała płyta skąpa jest w muzyce keyboardów nadającej jej gładkości i przyjemnego vibe'u. Sam Guerrette pisze, że jest ona "urbanistyczna, emocjonalna, osobista i introspektywna" i nic dziwnego bo powstała przez... dekadę. W ogóle, artysta wypełnił ją emocjami, sam przyznaje, że inspirował się między innymi uczuciami towarzyszącymi związkowi na odległość czy samotnością. A także, jak dowodzi finałowy kawałek High Heels, Blade Runnerem. Warto udać się z nim w podróż po skąpanych w neonach ulicach miasta.

Day & Dream - With Every Breath You Die (2019) EN

Day & Dream is a shoegaze band led by the couple Peter Frizzante and Abby Amaya. He has [post-punk origins, while she is fascinated in pop music from before several decades Together they create airy and at the same energetic shoegaze.

They call themselves "forest explorers, stargazers, sleepwalkers, dreamers" and it's hard to miss this in their works. And they sing about "relationships, aging, hope, travel and risk-taking", and as they do so with extremely, phenomenally airy voice of Amaya, it's really easy to fall in love with the Carolina based musicians' music. Especially that they add psychedelic guitars and crazy drums to the equation (First in Flight!) so well contrasting with the sleepy vocal.

Those characteristics of Day & Dream are audible in each of the tracks as underneath the dreamy vocals (it's the Dream in the name) fast drums and aggressive guitars live (brilliant in Starry Night) or clear and forcing to dance bass line (You).

Day & Dream to zespół shoegaze'owy dowodzony przez parę Peter Frizzante i Abby Amaya. On z korzeniami post-punkowymi, ona zafascynowana popem sprzed kilku dekad, razem tworzą eteryczny ale i energetyczny shoegaze.

Nazywają się "leśnymi odkrywcami, obserwatorami gwiazd, lunatykami, marzycielami" i ciężko tego nie zauważyć w ich twórczości. A śpiewają w niej o "związkach, starzeniu się, nadziei, podróżowaniu i podejmowaniu ryzyka", a że robią to nadzwyczaj, fenomenalnie eterycznym głosem Amayi, bardzo łatwo się w muzyce Amerykanów zakochać. Zwłaszcza, ze dokładają do tego psychodeliczne gitary i szalone perkusje (First in Flight!) tak wspaniale kontrastujące z usypiającym wokalem.

Ten charakter Day & Dream słychać w każdym kolejnym kawałku bo pod rozmarzonym wokalem (to ten Dream w nazwie) kłębią się a to szybkie perkusje albo agresywne gitary (świetne Starry Night) albo wyraźny i skłaniający do podrygów bas (You).

Their Methlab - The Last Second (2019) EN

They come from Greece and are inspired by a whole range of artists: from our Polish Tides from Nebula to Maybeshewill and from System of a Down to Björk. And they play a spacious post-rock, which, after eight years of band's existence, finally got released on their debut LP called The Last Second.

They write that they try to find their own sound by playing the blending of post-rock, post-metal and elements of psychedelia. I'd add some of the majestic and heavy stoner rock although indeed, it's the psychedelic part that give flavour to the music by the Greeks. It is extremely guitar-loaded and sometimes it's almost crushing.

The album is devoted to the Last Second, as the artists state, it's "That split moment right before you get what you longed-for. That tiny space in time and the feeling that lives inside it". It's tangible especially in the well-developed tension of Decompression, wonderful ending of Muktuk and the finishing track Golden Bond of Ambition with its soul-crushing finish. Good listen.

Pochodzą z Grecji, inspirują się całą gamą wykonawców od naszego Tides from Nebula po Maybeshewill i od System of a Down po Björk. No i grają przestrzenny post-rock, którym po ośmiu latach istnienia chwalą się w końcu na debiutanckiej płycie The Last Second.

Piszą, że starają się odnaleźć własne brzmienie grając mieszaninę post-rocka i post-metalu z elementami psychodelii. Ja dodałbym do tego trochę z majestatycznie ciężkiego stoner rocka, chociaż faktycznie, to psychodeliczne elementy dodają twórczości Greków smaku i oryginalności. Ich muzyka jest niezwykle gitarowa, czasem wręcz przygniatająco.

Płyta poświęcona jest Ostatniej Sekundzie, jak piszą muzycy: "tej odrobinie czasu tuż zanim dostaniesz to, za czym tęskniłeś i o emocjach, które w niej żyją". Czuć to zwłaszcza w umiejętnie budującym napięcie Decompression, znakomicie zakończonym Muktuk i kończącym album Golden Bond of Ambition z jego przygniatającym finiszem. Dobre słuchanie.

Tom Boyle - Mar de Fondo (2019) PL

Tom Boyle to kwartet z miasta Getxo w Baskonii, swój niewielki dorobek muzyczny artyści powiększyli właśnie EP-ką Mar de Fondo. Mimo że jest ona krótka, baz wątpliwości należy na nią zwrócić uwagę.

Jest to pierwsza z zapowiadanej trylogii EP-ek opowiadających o ludzkim życiu, o koktajlu emocji od bólu po szczęście. Płyta jest króciutka, ale bez wątpienia zwraca uwagę słuchacza. Jest kwintesencją smutnego hiszpańskojęzycznego dream popu podobnej jakości co ten od Blacanovy.

Wokalny dwugłos łagodnego wokalu kobiecego i głębokiego męskiego zazwyczaj robi dobrą robotę, nie inaczej jest tutaj. Zwłaszcza w obliczu niezwykle nostalgicznej atmosfery zaproponowanej przez Basków. Wrażenie robi fragment z ciepłym wokalem akompaniowanym przez płaczliwą gitarę w Titanic i bardzo eteryczny Supernova II. Trzeba będzie zwrócić na kolejne EP-ki Tom Boyle szczególną uwagę.

Tom Boyle - Mar de Fondo (2019) EN

Tom Boyle is a quartet from the town of Getxo in the Basque Country, they broadened their humble discography with a new EP called Mar de Fondo. And although it is very short, there's no doubt it should not be overlooked.

It's the first from the announced trilogy of EPs telling the story of the human life, about this cocktail of emotions from pain to happiness. The album is short but undoubtedly drawn the listener's attention. It's the essence of sad, Spanish dream pop of comparable quality to this from Blacanova.

The double vocal of a delicate feminine vocal and a deep male one always does a good job and it's not different here. Especially in the face of the nostalgic atmosphere served by the Basques. It makes a huge impression especially in the fragment where the warm vocals are accompanied by a crying guitar in Titanic and in the highly airy Supernova II. The incoming EPs from Tom Boyle must be paid special attention to.

Päfgens - Der Sturm (2019) EN

They come from Slovakia, created the band in Warsaw and reside in Berlin. Exactly to this nomadic life style point when talking about inspirations. The couple of artists Jana Kočišová and Filip Drábek released in February a very interesting album called Der Sturm.

In the first place, the duet creates atmospheric electronic music, from ambient soundscapes to delicate noise. It is all shown on the album, form the first, mesmerizing track to that last one, reigned by unsettling, nervous pulsations. It creates this difficult to define atmosphere of intense emotions blended in peaceful, all things considered, music. Worth checking out.

Pochodzą ze Słowacji, zespół założyli w Warszawie, a rezydują w Berlinie. Właśnie nomadzi tryb życia wskazują jako jedną ze swoich głównych inspiracji. Para artystów Jana Kočišová i Filip Drábek wydali w lutym arcy-ciekawą płytę zatytułowaną Der Sturm.

Duet zajmuje się przede wszystkim klimatyczna elektroniką, od ambientowych soundscape'ów po delikatny noise. Wszystko to pokazują na płycie, od hipnotyzującego kawałka pierwszego, po ostatni, w którym królują niepokojące, nerwowe pulsy. Wszystko to tworzy trudną do zdefiniowania atmosferę intensywnych uczuć w spokojnej w gruncie rzeczy muzyce. Poleca się.

The Chemical Mind - Beneath the Shadow It Casts (2019) EN

Nick Krueger and his The Chemical Mind had appeared on the blog already with his single Still and Silent, now the Texan comes back with his project's first long play called Beneath the Shadow It Casts.

The band exists already from 2013, but started releasing material quite late and only now is showing their music in its full bloom. Recorded almost single-handedly by Krueger (with some help from Sam Meador and Matthew Carl Earl of Xanthochroid) album shows extremely inclusive and eclectic approach to metal music. There's room in it for delicate piano sequences, metal growls and distorted electronics. And the whole thing is characterized by fantastic flow, compositions go down smoothly, almost like pop music.

It's very hard to point to the best album on this very well balanced album. Perhaps it's the most ballad-like Movement of the Light, or maybe the catchy Saccharine Fruit or the finishing, very atmospheric The Mirror of Simple Souls. You should just draw from Krueger's works as much as possible.

Nick Krueger i jego The Chemical Mind pojawił się już na blogu ze swoim singlem Still and Silent, teraz Teksańczyk wraca z pierwszą długograjacą płytą projektu, Beneath the Shadow It Casts.

Formacja działa już od 2013 roku, ale albumy zaczęła wydawać stosunkowo późno i dopiero teraz pokazał się w pełnej krasie. Nagrana prawie w całości przez Kruegera (pomagali mu Sam Meador i Matthew Carl Earl z Xanthochroid) płyta pokazuje bardzo inkluzywne i eklektyczne podejście do metalu. Jest na niej miejsce zarówno na delikatne sekwencje na pianinie, metalowe growle i zniekształconą elektronikę. Wszystko to cechuje się w dodatku fantastycznym flowem, kolejne kompozycje łyka się prawie jak popowe przeboje, nie wiadomo kiedy.

Trudno wskazać najlepszy utwór na tej równej płycie. Być może byłby to najbardziej balladowy Movement of the Light, a może przebojowy Saccharine Fruit albo zamykający całość, bardzo nastrojowy The Mirror of Simple Souls. Nic tylko brać z twórczości Kruegera.

Fuchsen - Seefahrerromantik (2019) EN

Fuchsen is a German Duet of artists who apparently really like the fuchsia colour. Their Bandcamp account may be quite painful for the eyes, but the music definitely is not. It's worth getting to know on their new album Seefahrerromantik.

The musicians create inspiring post-rock with elements of neoclassical grandeur in the form of the string section and piano keys. First three tracks (or, if you want, one track in three parts) is thoroughly rearranged material from the band Bell'sche Parese, the two remaining ones are the band's original creations. Fuchsen are occupied with combining in them the airy pianos, epic strings and post-rock noise that together sound almost like a classic symphony. Still, it's a shame that the music is served in lower quality of recording. Especially that there would be even more details to make the listener's spine thrill with awe.

Seefahrerromantik costs whatever you want to pay.

Fuchsen to niemiecki duet artystów, którzy najwyraźniej bardzo lubią kolor fuksjowy. Ich bandcampowa strona jest przez to nieco bolesna dla oczu, natomiast muzyka, którą tworzą już zdecydowanie nie. Warto się z nią zapoznać na nowej płycie Seefahrerromantik.

Muzycy tworzą inspirujący post-rock z elementami neoklasycznego rozmachu w postaci sekcji smyczkowej. Pierwsze trzy (albo jak kto woli pierwszy, trzyczęściowy kawałek) to poddany gruntownej rearanżacji materiał zespołu Bell'sche Parese, dwa pozostałe to oryginalna twórczość Fuchsen. Zajmują się w niej łączeniem eterycznego pianina, podniosłych smyczków i post-rockowym hałasem, które razem brzmią prawie jak klasyczna symfonia. Szkoda natomiast, że muzyka podana jest w dość słabej jakości. Zwłaszcza, że byłoby jeszcze więcej detali wywołujących ciarki zachwytu na skórze.

Dawn Fades - Dawn Fades (2019) PL

Łącząc najlepsze tradycje kalifornijskiego shoegaze'u z potężnym brzmieniem post-metalu, Dawn Fades nadciąga z Zachodniego Wybrzeża. Ich nowa płyta, zatytułowana po prostu Dawn Fades, pokazuje jak najlepiej łączyć te dwa, niekoniecznie kompatybilne gatunki.

Ich twórczość przypomina nieco post-hardcore poddany eteryzacji: szaleńczo szybkie tempo metalowej muzyki jest znacznie przystopowane, growle bardziej melancholijne, a typowy dla tego gatunku nieco kiczowaty, boybandowy wokal zastąpiony łagodnym, shoegaze'owo-progresywnym głosem. Czasem gitary stają się bardziej agresywne, jak w Ashes, ale w tym kawałku są z kolei równoważone wyjątkowo eterycznymi chórkami. Właśnie wtedy, gdy metalową duszę zastępuje nieco zamiłowanie do smutku, wtedy Dawn Fades są najlepsi. Tak jak w moim ulubionym Freeze - balladzie na bardzo głośne gitary elektryczne i growle.

Dawn Fades - Dawn Fades (2019) EN

Combining the best traditions of the Californian shoegaze with the crushing sound of post-metal, Dawn Fades hail from the West Coast. Their new album entitled simply Dawn Fades, shows how to successfully merge the two, not quite compatible, genres.

Their work is somehow like post-hardcore made airy: the crazily fast pace of metal music is considerably slowed down, the growl more melancholic and the genre's characteristic kitschy, a bit boyband-like vocal substituted with a gentle, shoegaze/progressive one. Sometimes the guitars, like in Ashes, turn more aggressive, but, at least in this track, they are balanced with extremely dreamy backing vocals. The exact moment when the metal soul is replaced with love for sadness, in this moment Dawn Fades are the best. Just like in my favourite track here Freeze - a ballad on very loud electric guitars and growls.

The Dwindlers - Beautiful Unfamiliar (2019) EN

The combination of music and poetry is one of the most beautiful ones on this blog. This time it was made by a New York-based duet The Dwindlers, or "ambience and imaginery" as they say. It can be tasted on the January album called Beautiful Unfamiliar.

The tracks here are devoted to the journey the artists had in Europe, which is especially noticeable in Dekuji Praha with a title translated to "Thank you, Prague". But their credo is already present in the statement that they "write about dreams, nature, and travel". The poetry part is the responsibility of the writer (and a singer) Michelle Seaman. In the album's best track, the opener Water Be My Road Now, inspires awe not only with the words and her deep voice, but also wit the airy backing vocals.

The music side is the domain of Benjamin Dauer. It is basically elusive electronics, peaceful and adding to the project's atmosphere but never in the foreground. Also, Dauer can be heard as a vocalist in Cold Sugar. Still, the most interesting part of the album is the title's unfamiliar beauty, this look from outside on our European culture.

Połączenie nieoczywistej muzyki i poezji to jedno z piękniejszych na tym blogu. Tym razem robi to duet z Nowego Jorku, The Dwindlers, czyli "atmosfera i wyobraźnia" jak piszą. Można ich zakosztować na styczniowej płycie projektu, Beautiful Unfamiliar.

Utwory na albumie poświęcone są doświadczeniu podróży artystów po Europie, co słychać zwłaszcza w kawałku Dekuji Praha, którego tytułu nie trzeba tłumaczyć. Zresztą swoje credo zawarli oni w zdaniu mówiącym, że "piszą o snach, naturze i podróży". Za poezję odpowiada pisarka (a także wokalistka) Michelle Seaman. W najlepszym na płycie kawałku, Water Be My Road Now zachwyca nie tylko słowami i głębokim głosem, ale również fantastycznie eterycznymi chórkami.

Z kolei muzyka jest domeną Benjamina Dauera. Ta jest bardzo ulotną elektroniką, spokojną i dodającą całości klimatu, jednak nigdy nie na pierwszym planie. Zresztą, Dauer również użycza swojego głosu, jak w Cold Sugar. Najciekawsze jednak na płycie jest tytułowe nieznajome piękno, to spojrzenie z zewnątrz na naszą, europejską kulturę.

Darja Kazimira & Dagmar Gertot - Ο θάνατος του Ταύρου (Death of The Bull) (2019) EN

Darja Kazimira is one of my favourite lesser known artists. And it's an artist with various talents as her photos and graphic works make a source of endless inspirations for me. The music side of her career is shown on the new album, Ο θάνατος του Ταύρου, recorded together with Dagmar Gertot.

The album is filled with very dark and very abstract folk music. The two artists fill it with the sounds of Georgian chuniri, Balkan dvojnice, Hindu gyaling (Kazimira), Roman barbitonu, Australian didgeridoo (Gertot) and many more, sometimes more, sometimes less obvious instruments. And there are also the vocals and howlings adding, together with amazing descriptions, to the album's clearly occult-witch atmosphere. The album is as far from the brisk folk as it can be, it's more an experimental symphony of pain played on crying and feminist message. Touching.
