cash - deluged (2022)

As far as I know, Cash debuted as an artist focused mostly on piano compositions. And while he was really good at this, those times are long gone. The India-born musician is now way more interested in the electronic sounds ranging freely from trip-hop to ambient and he proves it on his third album called deluged.

The synthy ambient soundscapes (a world of difference) are presented against the very trip-hop songs like submerged, creating together a unique experience that brings everything electronic music can be liked for. But it doesn't mean that Cash lost interest in the beauty of keys either: you can easily hear how good they sound in the bass-heavy asphyxia and the calmer plumeria. And the further the album goes, the more neoclassical it gets. The pace gets down, the subtle beauty of piano keys goes up. The airiness and the nostalgia-inducing ability of the album's finish is really something to go back to.

c a s h appears on the blog regularly for some time now, but he's no longer a teenager from India, he moved to US and... released an EP with another Hindu neoclassical artist - 4lienetic. This is Abstract.

4lienetic is the stage moniker of Sugama Khetana from Mumbai, just like c a s h, he's keen on combining neoclassicism with ambient and... making a lot of music (he appears to create an album each year). The EP is in some places more neoclassically delicate just to surprise with electronic elements in other (as in somber), or with a clear and strong bass and beat (in helium). This make it very diverse, even for the border of genres it belongs to. But for me, it's still the most beautiful when focuses on the neoclassical atmosphere.

c a s h pojawia się na blogu od czasu do czasu, tymczasem przestał być już nastolatkiem z Indii, przeprowadził się do Stanów i... wydal EP-kę wraz z innym indyjskim neoklasycznym artystą - 4lienetic. Oto Abstract.

4lienetic to pseudonim sceniczny Sugama Khetana z Mumbaju, z c a s h-em łączy go zamiłowanie do łączenia ambientu z neoklasyką oraz... nadzwyczajna płodność twórcza (wydaje album co roku). EP-ka bywa więc bardziej delikatna od neoklasyki by w innych momentach zaskoczyć elektronicznymi elementami (jak w somber), albo wręcz mocniejszym basem i bitem (w helium), co sprawia, że nawet jak na pogranicze gatunków jest zróżnicowana. Ale dla mnie najpiękniej i tak brzmi wtedy, gdy skoncentrowana jest na neoklasycznej atmosferze.

This youngster is absolutely one of the kind. The teenager from Mumbai creates tons of nostalgically beautiful sounds and puts them on more and more albums. Also with the help of some other interesting artists. This is Cash's new album - collision course .

His music could be described as subtle electronics mingled with some neoclassical beauty. Just as it's in the single and title track collision course the opens the album and imposes the course (sic!) on the rest of the tracks. The sounds generated by the artist and the delicate piano music together end up being oneiric in atmosphere that make it very easy to dissolve in. If I was to enlist the songs that best manage to convey this, I'd have to mention the whole album. And what's more, Cash received some help from other interesting young musicians who made the album even more colourful bringing with them for example some trip-hop-like beats.

Ten młodzian jest be wątpienia jedyny w swoim rodzaju. Nastoletni chłopak z Bombaju tworzy nostalgicznie piękne dźwięki i nagrywa je na kolejnych albumach, a do tego ma pomoc od innych świetnych artystów. Oto nowa płyta Casha - collision course .

Jego muzyka to subtelna elektronika połączona ze smakiem z neoklasycznym pięknem. Tak jak na singlowym i tytułowym collision course,który ponadto otwiera płytę nadając tym samym, nomen omen, kurs reszcie. Generowane przez artystę dźwięki i delikatne pianino tworzą razem oniryczną atmosferę, w której można się rozpłynąć bez problemu. Gdyby wymieniać kawałki, w których wyszło mu to najlepiej trzeba by wymienić całą płytę. A do tego Cash otrzymał pomoc od kilku innych ciekawych muzyków, którzy ubarwiają płytę przede wszystkim trip-hopowymi bitami.

Cash is still teenager but the scale of his talent is incredible. The young Hindu creates a mixture of ambient, neoclassic music and post-rock, and the amount of soul he puts into his creations can hardly be imagined. You can try by checking is new EP, The Sounds My Heart Makes.

This album evolves while being listen to. Start with ambient and a little bit industrial Distant, just to turn into neoclassical music with ambient core in Reverie. Cash says that his music consists of "simple, downtempo piano melodies that go towards more of a shoegaze or an atmospheric production or sometimes into more of a relaxing, minimal piece", it's best heard in the beautiful Glisten. He may have forgotten about post-rock as some of the pieces (Reverie, Serenade)  develops into some great guitar music in their finishing parts.

Cash's music is both atmospheric and eclectic. No wonder that among his inspirations are both deadmau5 and Chopin.

Cash jest wciąż jeszcze nastolatkiem, ale skala jego talentu powala. Młody Hindus tworzy mieszankę ambientu, neoklasyki i post-rocka, a to, jak wiele duszy wkłada w swoją muzykę, nie da się ogarnąć rozumem. Sprawdzić można na nowej EP-ce The Sounds My Heart Makes.

Ta pyta ewoluuje podczas odtwarzania. Zaczyna się ambientowym, nieco industrialnym Distant, po to by wraz z Reverie zamienić się w neoklasykę o ambientowej duszy. Cash mówi o swojej muzyce, że składa się z "prostych, powolnych melodii na pianine, raz zmierzających bardziej w stronę atmosferycznego shoegaze'u, a raz medytacyjnego ambientu", najlepiej słychać to w pięknym Glisten. Zapomniał chyba dodać do tego post-rocka bo kilka kawałków (Reverie, Serenade) zamienia się w finale w gitarowe granie pełną gębą.

Muzyka Casha jest tak atmosferyczna jak i eklektyczna. Nic dziwnego, że wśród inspiracji wymienia zarówno deadmau5a jak i Chopina.
