The Stargazer Lilies - Lost (2017) EN

First day of September, one day after great performance on the Gdańsk based Sondrive Festival, the Stargazer Lilies published their new full album. Coincidence? Kim Field and John Cep play traditional, equally melancholic and airy shoegaze and what's more, they are super nice people, I had a chance to have some words. Do we need anything more?

Traditional shoegaze, so overdrives, deafening guitars, noise forced to serve the melody. Completed with super delicate vocals and elusiveness of the composition. No track on the album is worse then others but also, as for me, no track is better than the fantastic "Golden Key" from the last album. Still tho, it's possible to pick up some favourites, perhaps the most interesting one would be "Let It Go" with surprisingly light chorus or absolutely airy "Ahhh" or maybe sung in duet (obviously) "Bonnie and Clyde". Really to many to choose from.

If it was not enough, there is a swell reference to the legendary "Twin Peaks" b David Lynch, that also returned this year. And "Enter the Black Lodge" sounds as if Kim and John played in the Roadhouse every night.

"Lost" costs 8 USD.
