Infinity Girl - Somewhere Nice, Someday (2017) EN

They look like swashbucklers but instead of destructive punk or at least laid back surfpop, they play wonderfully atmospheric shoegaze. Infinity Girl, boys from New York, have just released their new album and it's enough to draw your attention.

Thinned down vocals and slow guitars are characteristic for the band, they can overdeafen every kind of day. Their music is both melodic and seemingly not wanting to be like that. Nevertheless, there are some gems you immediately catch while listening to the album like my favourite, neurotic "But I'm Slow", raw "Derail Me" or quite chaotic "Anything".

There still a lot of the New York punk spirit in them. This rawness, crudity, they don't really match the shoegaze soft layer of sounds. Not to mention the fact that to tag them on FB, you've got to write "ihateinfinitygirl".

"Somewhere Nice, Someday" is available for pay what you want.
