Mon - Bye (2018) EN

Existing already since 2011, Mon is made of two Swedish artists, Emil Nordin and Kim-Evert Olofsson who play traditional, guitar post-rock. Good news is that they finally released their first album.

"Bye" consists of four tracks filled with raw guitar sounds. Just like the landscapes of the North, the Swedes' music lacks unnecessary ornaments and focuses on the most important, just like in "Cairn",in which the slow drums, bass and guitar showing off with riffs are able to create both an interesting composition and loudly nostalgic finish.

Even more of gloomy Scandinavian landscapes are included in the two-part "Vägar". Long, tension building part one feels like a freezing wind and part two is already a winter darkness illuminated with guitar riffs. So, everything we should expect from a post-rock from Sweden.
