Tangled Thoughts of Leaving - No Tether (2018) EN

The Australians from Tangled Thoughts of Leaving are already well known in the world of instrumental post-rock, after their long plays "Deaden The Fields" and "Yield To Despair" helped them establish a significant fandom, they are coming back with more guitar noise in "No Tether".

The highest tier quality of their music is audible from the very beginning. The way their music sounds and how it is written makes a long-lasting impression and forces to listen closely to catch every nuance during this almost-an-hour-long album. And those nuances are everywhere as the level of complexity in the Australians' music is sky-high. It's not only about making loud guitar sounds, the artists use those to show a whole palette of emotions, from anger to awe and back to depression. To do that, they add piano keys but not only. The music complexity makes me think that they sound as if a jazz band decide to try something else and switch genres.

The audience is going to lose their shoes many times. First, when they hit the absolutely epic, but not really that loud "Cavern Ritual". Second time, when from the chaos of "Signal Erosion" suddenly a wall of sound emerges. And finally, during "Binary Collapse" in which this jazz-post-rock masterpiece loudly finishes. Guitar music of the highest quality.

"No Tether" costs 14 AUD.
