The Black Garden Circus - Everything Is Different (2020) EN

The Black Garden Circus is a duo made of two Italian artists Gianluca Zannone and Paolo Cirillo who make very guitar and very catchy post-rock. They just released a very promising but also already really good debut album called Everything Is Different. 

They write that they can be characterized by "obsessive timing, unmelodious and hypnotic" music. The last part can be hardly argued with, their music is very close to psychedelia with its ease at captivating and seducing the audience, it's difficult to get away from when the guitar riffs begin. On the other hand, is this music unmelodious? The answer is "not" but maybe they meant that there's some simplicity and minimalism in it. It doesn't make the album any less exciting, some moments categorically oppose this statement, moments such as the finish of Write the End!, fantastically pace-changing Whalesong or the calm closure in Tulips and Skulls. It seems that every post-rock fan is likely to find something to their likes here.
