Cult of Haze - Snow Like Ashes (2017) EN

Cult of Haze are surprisingly not shoegazers (at least in a traditional sense). The project combines several genres in their music but the main factor is a lot of electronics and fast pace, together with airy female vocals.

Seemingly these are not fitting, almost oxymoron aspects: very fast electronics and melancholic approach to existence. But they taste perfect together. This is the situation on "Snow Like Ashes" as guitar-electronic music creates tracks entitled like "The Road of Autumn", "Pass Away" and "Sleep" and also powers up every cell in your body, make every hair standing up. In great deal it is thanks to the vocal that, just like the ones from the best shoegazing/coldwaving bands from before, is as airy as it gets.

Most importantly though, the electronic music o the album is perfect. It can be as fast as the wind ("Circle of Ice") or focus on measuring the pace ("The Road..."). And, no doubt about it, makes you stand up and forces to get really excited. Te music haze i quite strong on this one.

"Snow Like Ashes" is available as pay-what-you-want.
