owl. x miles. - Apart. (2017) EN

Owl. records his music and vocals with an iPhone once, with all the mistakes he may make. miles. adds some of his magic (and everything else) and that's how the York-based project's music happens. Both men even do it over the Internet. For a obviously, lo-fi music, their first album seems to be deeply thought-through and catchy.

It is absolutely atmospheric fromt the first, unique track. "Behold" is a blending of howling like wind drone background with seamlessly fitting poetry. And when you try to get over such a beginning, "Nations" attack you with quite an unexpected here melody and picturesque backing vocals that add up to the music's inspired airiness.

"Wind. 2nd Movement" is actually different again. This time, the mood is created by a looping background and vocal that is very different from the previous tracks - clear and undistorted. But still, the album is reigned by the backing vocals - and they are not just *some* of their kind as they remind me of those from "Part Monster" by Piano Magic, top class. Actually, everything you decided to set your attention to enchants with the mood, although it is usually generated by very different means.

"Apart." can be yours for anything you'd like to pay.
