Behind The Shadow Drops sounds like music of the highest quality, not only from the post-rock niche but music as such. Like super professional project taking its place among the best art in the world. And this all is true because BTSD is not created by an anonymous artist, it's a project by Takaakira Goto, the composer of probably the best, the most climatic for certain, band ever - the Japanese MONO.
The cooperation between Goto and widely known producer and drummer - Johnem McEntire resulted in an album that goes far beyond the traditional post-rock and dances weightlessly somewhere in the realms of neoclassical and ambient music. And this dance is so beautiful and tear-jerking that I can barely describe it.
The only thing I know is that my heart got stolen by the track number two, "Trace of Snow Waltz", that is everything I've always wanted from music that touches the soul, it is a beautiful composition with strings and keys and the most wonderful atmosphere. And, what's important, it's a perfect description of the whole album as well.
