Dayluta Means Kindness - When You're Young You're Invincible (2017) EN

True, almost classical post-rock made in Texas, this time by Dayluta Means Kindness. The band says that they draw inspiration from “those moments of euphoric inspiration that hit you suddenly when you least expect them to”. You can hear the rich imagination in their music which is only stressed by the fact that their first EP was called “The Ground Is Lava” after the play of children burdened with great imagining capability.

“Warzawa” is gloomy but it develops throughout the song (if the band meant the capital city of Poland, they need to check their spelling but it’s explain the gloominess. If they meant West Virginia-based punkrockers, the spelling is correct but the ambiance not really), "When You're Young You're Invincible" is fast and “Fort Lebanon” is epic. As far as music is concerned, it’s fantastic. Tracks are composed in a well-planned way and the sound of three guitars can both amaze with soundscapes and smash to the ground.

The artists are glad that there’s no vocalist in their band because it “provides their listeners the opportunity to create their own narratives to what the songs mean to them”. Can’t argue with that. But it’s still a shame because some titles are meant to be sung (“Young Savagery and General Debauchery”). But listener, sing it by yourself!

Prawdziwy, tradycyjny niemal teksański post-rock, tym razem od Dayluta Means Kindness. Zespół przyznaje, że czerpie najwięcej z tych momentów "euforycznej inspiracji, która dopada cię nagle, gdy najmniej się tego spodziewasz.” W ich muzyce słychać to bogactwo wyobraźni, co tylko jest podkreślone przez fakt, że ich pierwsza EPka nazywała się “The Ground Is Lava” za zabawą dzieci obdarzonych zbytkiem imaginacji.

“Warzawa” jest ponura ale się rozkręca (jeśli teksańczykom chodziło o stolice Polski to muszą poćwiczyć pisownię obcych nazwa, ale to by wyjaśniało ponurość. Jeśli chodziło im o punkowców z Wirginii Zachodniej to zgadza się nazwa ale nie atmosfera utworu), "When You're Young You're Invincible" jest szybkie a "Fort Lebanon" epicki. Muzycznie jest pierwszorzędnie. Kompozycje są przemyślane, a dźwięki trzech gitar potrafią zarówno zachwycić muzycznym pejzażem jak i wgnieść w ziemię. 

Muzycy chwalą sobie fakt, że nie mają wokalisty przez co słuchacze mogą “zbudować swoje własne narracje co do tego, co dane kompozycje dla nich znaczą”. Nie da się temu zaprzeczyć. Jednak trochę też szkoda bo niektóre tytuły aż proszą się o zaśpiewanie (“Young Savagery and General Debauchery”). A więc słuchaczu, zaśpiewaj sobie sam.
