Psychodelia and shoegaze in one, this is a mix that can barely be ignored. Compared to Mazzy Stars and other classic bands, Texas-based artists released their first long play called Memory Bleach and it's quite a big deal.
Layers of reverbs and dream pop melodies hidden in-between, these are the main characteristics of the Americans' music. The former storm the audience's imagination, the latter get to the brain right away (as it's difficult not to hum tracks such as the title one Memory Bleach, Blowout or Hourglass). The quieted down falsetto by Alex Capistran sounds as if it was James Bagshaw of Temples, who started making shoegaze from the 90s.
The music side of the album consists of homogeneous psychedelic rock in which there's sometimes a colourful splash of rock riffs or delicate synth sequences (as in Be Strange). Although some tracks clearly are meant to be more ballad-like, the whole album seems to be played in one pace, the pace of psychedelic, delicate dream.
