Project by Carlin McLellan by the Australian Newcastle, a pianist and composer but also a musician who knows what's ambient all about. Which he showed on his new album called Unsurpassed Miracle Beauty.
McLellan's extraordinarily peaceful music is filled with pauses and silence between which some single notes played on piani are audible. Or almost dance-able electronic music as in Trust. In its own way, this is both coherent and diverse at the same time. After all, his project is supposed to "explore ambient musical spaces of drifting minds and magenta feelings".
Beautifully dedicated to a Bastian, album doesn't give you ready interpretations ("I hope to let each song be whatever it wants to be"), but on the other hand, particular tracks have strong associations for the author (e.g. with Finland and this is something that doesn't surprise me in the slightest).
Unsurpassed Miracle Beauty costs whatever you want to pay.
