There's a shining Sun behind my windows and the air is slowly turning into the summer heat. Any memory of freezing, dark winter months sounds like a joke. But the Americans from You Are A Soul uncover those memories and use them to build their blood cooling post-rock.
In their music the Isaac - Blake duo combine trembling, unsettled guitars with massive backgrounds that hang over the audience like black, snow heavy clouds. We know that in a moment something bad will happen and this feeling is difficult to overcome when listening to the album. But before it happens we can experience some of the great compositions, "Snowfall", "Cold Regrets" with icicle cold keys, or "Tyto Alba" with something that sounds like church bells. Eventually the explosion comes in two parts - first the dirty one in "Frost", than the cleansing one in "Forgiveness".
"Post-rock is the best kind of rock" the musicians wrote on their Facebook. They clearly believe in what they say.
