Strangers in My House - Strangers in My House (2020) EN

Strangers in My House is a Kraków-based band, the debut of which I'd been looking forward to for a year. And it's here, the first album from the artists who combine in their music shoegaze inspirations and catchy indie rock.

As it could have been predicted, the band admits to be "inspired mostly by shoegaze and dream pop music from the ‘80s and ‘90s". They sound more like Mazzy Stars than My Bloody Valentine, the compositions are more traditional and closer to the catchiness of the borderland between dream pop and indie rock. Magdalena Radecka's vocals are quite clear and suggest the latter, although their atmospheric side cant be denied, especially in more ballad-like tracks like Circles

Some songs are instantly remembered, especially Rays of Sun with the choire that you immediately start to hum, more rock'n'roll The Other Home or louder Stalker. And finally the finish of the album in the harder, shoegazeingly catchy Storm. It's a pity though, that singles released a year ago didn't make it to the album as they would have only enriched it.

Strangers in My House costs 4 EUR (15 PLN).
