Blanket - Our Brief Encounters (2017) EN

Emotionally intense post-rock from Blackpool - banket has just released its debut album about brief encounters. And the debut is both very, very good and very promising. 

The astronaut on the cover is no coincidence - the whole album sounds as if the band recorded it while watching stars and looking into the future. More, the title can hardly not be a reference to the most famous movie close encounters. Show is stolen by the very first track - with electronically distorted album's title and energically cosmic backgrounds. The next tracks just prove the point, they are definitely a very good post-rock with guitars balanced with electronics and ambient noise. It lifts the audience up, just like the last track suggests - to the skies.

And they are having gigs in Poland this week - tomorrow in Warsaw, on Thursday in Kraków.
