The Rights - Di Dalam Fana EP (2017) EN

The Rights, another good Indonesian exotic flower in the botanic garden of the off music. What's in this country that it gives us so much beautiful and moody music? The project is the solo creation, what the author likes to underline, of Luthfi Pradita of Jakarta and gives us dark post-rock that makes us anxious instead of inspiring awe and force to look around nervously instead of relaxing.

If I translate the album's title correctly, it means "In Transition". And the song titles are interesting too - we have Malaysian for "Be There" ("Menjadi Ada") and "Happy in Paralysis" ("Bahagia Dalam Lumpuh") and finally the composition closing and referring to the first track - "Be No" ("Menjadi Tiada"). Behind them, there is particularly consistent post-rock with droning backgrounds and beautiful keys but also clear-sounding guitars and vocals (in the English-titled "Light") that do not mess anything up.

The whole work by Pradita is very consistent and well-thought-out. The graphics on the album match the music in the best way possible so that its immersive potential is even bigger. And they are very dark too.
