Walk Among Statues is currently one of the most interesting Polish post-rock projects, and we know it even though the band haven't released a long play yet. A nice surrogate for this is the recent EP called Without Blood.
The band was created "with the strong need to find an outlet for energy, which in each of us [the musicians] somewhere deeply sits and often does not sleep at night" and is inspired by the "pulse of the universe" that is best expressed by music. Their works clearly show that they channel a lot of this nocturnal energy - the tracks are dark with their dense, very guitar-oriented style. The musicians don't hesitate to employ the mesmerizing looping of particular sections that clearly addresses the aformentioned pulse of the universe.
The EP consists of just three tracks, but each of them brings something important to the whole. When is an aggressively dark song, The Last Man is very ballad-like but still doesn't let anyone get bored even though it lasts almost 10 minutes and finally Burst makes a great finish with its blurred and overlapping guitar music.
Without Blood kosztuje 15 złotych.
