Solkyri - Mount Pleasant (2020) EN

The Australian Solkyri released this year their third album, very solid, sometimes even exceptional guitar post-rock makes it one of the best releases of the kind this year. Don't miss out Mount Pleasant.

The minimalist cover art hides material inspired "by the theme of deception, deceit and false facades." The band led by Adam Mostek (Polish-sounding name here), play very guitar-oriented kind of post-rock although there's some electronic snippets (Potemkin) pr charming key fragments (Meet Me in the Meadow).

Still, the most important here are the guitars. The energy, pugnacity and tunefullness are of the highest quality. And best sounding probably in the album's closing track, heavy and raw in some places while surprisingly atmospheric in other, Gueules cassées. The Australians were supposed to promote the album in Europe with gigs in Poland and during Dunk Festival. Such a shame we have to wait for them now.
