Writing here about so hot albums like the newest one by Hańba of Kraków is most probably not a very smart decision. Big names of Polish music journalism and journalism itself have noticed and commented on this punk noise from a Galician yard from a hundred years ago (that's how the band's style look like). Still, the album is available on Bandcamp and Hańba is currently my favourite Polish band so... it's me treat.
First thing is shock. Only after listening to the whole album for the first time, I came to terms with its audio quality. It sounds just like a vinyl found on an attic, that has to be really dusted off before trying to play it. Comparing to actually modern sounds of Hańba's debut, the change is visible. At first, my teeth hurt a little but then I realized that it is how it should be to be consistent. And I secretly want the debut album to be recorded once again.
What's more, the quality of the album music really encourages to see them live and their concerts are spectacular (they tour also outside of Poland). And the songs from "Będą bić!" (which translates to "They'll beat!") are at least as good as the ones on the previous one. Short, catchy punk songs played on tube, accordion, drum and banjo with lyrics by poets from before WW2. It's hard to state which one is the best. Probably one of the three: "Piosenka młodych faszystów" ("Young Fascists' Song"), "Polak zbrojny" ("Army Pole") i "Żyda bić" ("Hit the Jew"). We should listen to them while we can.
