If you are keen on heavy, guitar post-rock that combines monumentality with uncanny atmosphere and is inspired by such brands as pg.lost, This Will Destroy You and, what is quite intriguing, our Polish Spoiwo, then the German Magma Waves is a must-listen-to for you.
Their first longplay is a playlist made of really epic compositions that keep you under impression from the beginning til the end. And the beginning here is absolutely splendid as "I am afraid of you" and everything that happens around the beginning of the 6th second, is my favourite part of the album.
The peak of the post-rock noise are reached also in "Scrt" or rapidly developing "Portals". It has to bbe stated that the musicians use mostly, almost exclusively, traditional guitar sounds without electronic additions or importing so popular pop-culture samples (the only one comes from Bioshock, the video game). The whole epicness is struck with guitar strings.
