Satoshi Dáte - visual artist, film maker and musician, a person of various talents. His works can be admired on his website and Spirit Mill shows that his musical side is also intriguing and, yes, mesmerizing.
This short album is, as the title prepares us for, very abstract. Minimal backgrounds with a "broken" line of beats, broken because it disappears in very peculiar moments only to reemerge again, are accompanying the artist's vocal. And it is equally chaotic. Breaking up, defusing, ready to laugh or sigh in various places. It is far from "normal" music which is, however, not a place we want to go to with Dáte.
It is abstract until the very end. Actually, the more you get into it, the weirder the shapes are. Because the first three tracks are clearly experimental music but the last one, "letters in our cubes", is already a some sort of decomposition of music.
