Reka - Jupiter (2019) EN

Reka is a band hailing from Russia, but in reality, it is composed of artists from all over the world. "Actually we just want to be honest and ordinary persons who met so many different and gorgeous peoples and places" as they explain. Their honesty and openness show in that they publish links to download their previous albums for free on their FB account. The new one was recently released and is called Jupiter.

Their music is made of monumental and overwhelming compositions filled with massive guitars and not so fast, sludge-like pace. Accompanied by them vocals sound desperate and helpless like the proverbial crying in the wilderness. It brings to their music a lot of nihilistic vibes and at the same time lets you feel the might of the guitar layer. In the title track. Jupiter, it is slightly soothed by female vocal adding some delicacy to the music, but it can't erase the overall depressive feeling around the album.
