Roughness is the keyword for this band. The Russian Ruin!Ruins! describe their music n their own as rough post-rock from the forests of Siberia but if this is not enough, the title of the track number seven ("szorstki" meaning roughly "rough") just proves the point.
"Mammock" seems to mean a broken piece. The album consists of many of such pieces - sharp and massive in their sound. Many of them build up to their truly epic ends (e.g. "Distress"). Clearly the musicians are not afraid of creating their music on a grand scale and they don't hesitate to move past the fifth or sixth minute while writing their songs.
Their music is loud with this type of loudness that the sound of chainsaws is made of. There is both energy and rhythm but also certain atmosphere to it. Anyway, the forests of Siberia suggest that it may, indeed, have been an inspiration.
"Mammock" costs 7,99 USD.
