Meierei - 1959 (2017) EN

Another example of great music from Russia this week. Completely different than the airy wave from before. But again, it is completely different than anything else as Meierei's inspiration was found in the dadaism movement which was different per definition. Than anything else.

And "1959" is basically musical dadaism - full of things found around, like samples, melodies or sounds that are joined together with unnerving lines of rhythm - sometimes reminding of machinery noises ("Sur une Ride du Soleil") sometimes calmer. Of course, French rules on the album as it was one of THE languages of dadaism. Even the interview used in "1959", the song, is held in two languages so it wasn't too easy and normal.

The whole thing looks like a collage (it is even referred to by one of the titles) so exactly like dadaism was supposed to be. If this is not the musical face of the movement, nothing ever will.
