The American Moon Duo have just released the second part of this year's album "Occult Architecture" and I'll be damned if it can't be called their psychedelic opus magnum. It is saturated with occult.mystic ideas, like the Chinese yin/yang. The second part represents the yang of the band, the light side of their complex way of thinking and that is also why it was released in the heart of the spring's warmth.
And MD offer everything the psychedelic shoegaze has in store - unconventional sounds and melodies accompanying quite raw guitars, non-obvious compositions, plus airy vocals. The most interesting track would be "Sevens", the only one that can be actually hummed in a traw on your way to work, which proceeds guitar journey in "Mirror's Edge". The album shows the yang inspirations very clearly - the luminous electronics in the backgrounds (as in "Lost in Light") and vocals muggy like summer air. Close your eyes and feel the sun kissing your skin.
