"We are the nicest metal band you will ever meet", that's not your ordinary band ad, but yet, this is how the American Dawnlit describe themselves. It doesn't change a tiny thing about their music though, their massive post-rock is not less breath-taking because of that. You can have its taste with the band's new album "True North".
The five-piece project from Utah play very traditional, if there's such a thing, post-instrumental post-rock. Full of rock riffs and thick, guitar backgrounds. It doesn't mean they don't use light piano keys whenever they are needed. And so in "We Are Creating It, We Are Conjuring It" stanzas are made of delicate but also lively keyboard while the chorus overflows with loud guitars. The further you go, the more it is so, for example "Syncline Loop" shows the perfect balance between the beauty of keys and the noise of guitars. Very well done.
