Trees Die Standing is... a second band of this name. This one gives us their music from the Asian part of Russia, from the Altai Krai. And it is well translated into sounds because the best what comes to my mind after listening to their heavy post-rock is "it smells with the raw beauty of Siberia".
It's audible throughout the whole album. Be it in the whispering guitars in the background sounding like wind flying through Russian desolated parts or in guitar riffs as sharp as Siberian winter in "January". No doubt the home are of the musicians had been a heavy influence on the band, it's enough to look at the song titles, especially "The Shining of a Snowy Desert".
Their music is quite diverse. The most interesting seems to be "XI" that develops slowly and without hurry to get to the wonderful finish or the last track on the album - "Trees Die Standing" attacking with a hurricane of moody sounds for the most of the time only to suddenly change. Very good, instrumental music here.
