Seas of Years is a band that for several years now has been proving how strong the Swedish post-rock is. Musicians who had been dealing with metal music before, showed a lot of post-rock sensibility but they still are not afraid of going a little bit loud.
In 2016, the Swedes released an album that was a longer version of a previous EP, and entitled it "The Ever Shifting Fields", now a similar scenario is possible with another mini-album - "Three Horizons Away" and, it has to be said, it would be great news. The album with a cover picture with enormous buildings (silos?) shows, just like the buildings, gigantism of sounds.
It starts with an atmospheric introduction in "How Visions of a Dreamer Resound" and only in "Mesopelagic Transmissions" the band reaches the sky-high flight of post-rock music. And "Crossing the Coastal Perimeter" is a top-grade noise from the beginning til the end. It's probably the best track on the album with its ability to maintain the atmosphere of more peaceful post-rock while serving pure guitar adrenaline at the same time.
