E-L-R - Mænad (2019) EN

Recently I had a pleasure to be a part of Zurich's Bergmal Festival, the undoubtedly main discovery of which was the local band called E-L-R. And so it happened that the two girls and one guy band have released recently their debut album Mænad and... what a debut it is!

E-L-R's music is made of unbearably noisy (especially live) combination of post-rock ideas and shoegaze execution. Their wall of guitar sounds literally crushes you into the ground, the overlapping sounds sound precisely how My Bloody Valentine wanted them to in their shoegaze and the vocals are minimal or even non-existent. The artists usually limit themselves to airy backing vocals and generation of guitar noise.

But when the vocal does appear, as in Devotee, it brings some of unbelievable grandeur and truly just makes you cry out of beauty. Some other fragments are more post-rocking, as Above the Mountains There's Light for example, especially when it comes to compositions and the drums' part taken in this monumental experience. Certainly one of the most important albums of the year. Important news is that the Swiss band is going for a tour soon and will play also in Poland: November 13th in Wrocław and the next day in Warsaw.

Miałem okazję bardzo niedawno uczestniczyć w Bergmal Festivalu w Zurychu, którego niekwestionowanym odkryciem był lokalny zespół E-L-R. Tak się składa, że dwie gitarzystki i perkusista wydali niedawno swój debiutancki krążek Mænad i... cóż to jest za debiut!

Muzyka E-L-R to nieznośnie głośne (zwłaszcza na żywo) połączenie post-rockowych idei i shoegaze'owego wykonania. Ściana gitar w ich wykonaniu dosłownie przygniata do ziemi, nawarstwiające się dźwięki brzmią dokładnie tak, jak wymyślili to sobie My Bloody Valentine w swoim shoegazie, natomiast.. wokalu albo nie ma, albo jest go niewiele. Artystki na ogół ograniczają się do eterycznych chórków i generowania gitarowego hałasu. 

Jeśli wokal się pojawia, tak jak w Devotee, dodaje nadzwyczajnego rozmachu i wręcz zmusza do płaczu swoim pięknem. Bardziej post-rockowo jest w Above the Mountains There's Light, zwłaszcza jeśli chodzi o kompozycję i udział perkusji w tym monumentalnym wydarzeniu. Z pewnością jedna z ważniejszych płyt roku. Warto dodać, że wkrótce Szwajcarów zobaczyć będzie można w Polsce: 13-tego listopada we Wrocławiu, a dzień później w Warszawie.

The New Science - Ghosts in the City (2019) EN

The New Science, band from the Mexican city of Guadalajara, in August released their debut EP. And Ghost in the City is worth the audience's attention as it's a solid example of good, delicate shoegaze/indie rock.

The album starts with what the Mexicans are really good in. A bit monotonous guitar music and extremely moody vocal that can suddenly and without warning speed up turning subtle dream pop into cheeky shoegaze immediately. This is the situation in Waterfall Effect, after that, there's more of the atmospheric, not hasty dream pop. Reflective guitar weeping and very delicate voice of the vocalist make the whole thing an utterly pleasant experience.

The New Science, zespół z meksykańskiej Guadalajary, wydał jeszcze w sierpniu swoją debiutancką EP-kę. Warto się nad Ghost in the City chwilę pochylić bo to kawałek udanego, łagodnego shoegaze'u/indie rocka.

Płyta od razu zaczyna się tym, w czym Meksykanie wydają się być naprawdę dobrzy. Nieco monotonna muzyka gitarowa i niebywale klimatyczny wokal, które potrafią nagle i bez ostrzeżenia nieźle przyspieszyć zamieniając subtelny dream pop w interesujący shoegaze z pazurem. Tak jest w Waterfall Effect, później więcej nastrojowego, nie spieszącego się nigdzie dream popu. Relaksujące brzdąkanie gitary i bardzo delikatny wokal są niezwykle przyjemne dla ucha.

Escape From 1984 - The Flower (2019) EN

Escape From 1984 is a project for which responsible is the Petersburg-based artist Mikhail Churyumov. His music can be seen as post-rock with some clearly noticeable post-punk vibes. Check it out on the album called The Flower.

The project's name is of course taken from George Orwell's 1984. For the artist it's a way to escape the nowadays reality that more and more reflects the one from the famous dystopia. It's also "an island, where nobody can't keep watch over your thoughts". Clear and perhaps too much on the nose, but maybe this is what it should be now.

Churyumov's music comprises of somewhat traditional post-rock while the post-punk vibes are mostly around the music. Some more interesting moments include the final part of The Flower, Pt. 2 (Purpose) with its impressive solo,  the atmospheric These Trees Will Rise Again and finally the soothing down in Look at the Sky Tonight. Escape From 1984 - The Flower (2019) PL

Escape From 1984 to projekt, za który odpowiedzialny jest od początku do końca petersburżanin Michaił Czurjumow. Jego muzyka to post-rock z bardzo wyraźnym post-punkowym posmakiem, poznajcie go na The Flower.

Nazwa projektu to oczywiste nawiązanie do 1984 George'a Orwella. Dla artysty muzyka jest ucieczką od rzeczywistości, która w coraz większym stopniu przypomina tę z najsłynniejszej dystopii. Jest też "wyspą, gdzie nikt nie może nadzorować twoich myśli". Wyraziste i może zbyt nachalne na płycie, ale może tak właśnie dziś trzeba. 

Muzyka Czurjumowa to dość tradycyjny, bardzo gitarowy post-rock, a post-punkowa jest w niej raczej tylko otoczka. Kilka najbardziej interesujących momentów to końcówka The Flower, Pt. 2 (Purpose) z efektownym solo,  klimatyczny These Trees Will Rise Again czy wygaszenie płyty w Look at the Sky Tonight. All Shining Stars Have a Soul.

An obscure project from Louisiana released their probably first track. And you have to say it's extremely interesting - mesmerizing and unique vocal by Jacob Disedare, drum machine and juicy bass line based compositions and... their own visual way. Very well done. Mało znany projekt muzyczny z Luizjany pokazał chyba pierwszy swój kawałek. Ten utwór ma już kilka miesięcy, ale o zespole zrobiło się trochę głośniej w ostatnich tygodniach. I dobrze, bo polski shoegaze, w dodatku z miasta, w którym żyję, zawsze ma u mnie spory plus na starcie. Lumastora - Inlet (2019) EN

Jed Flora, better known as Lumastora, visited the blog already two years ago with his album Bend. Today he's back with a not so long but really good EP Inlet.

Flora on the album shows, as he states, "a new pathway I have found in creating music". It shows in epic and grandeur-filled ambient with the feeling of peace, stillness but also momentousness of space walks. Or at least it's the first track, Boarding On Autopilot. The rest of the album is filled with contemplating, atmospheric ambient soundscapes with some beautiful moments such as the out of tune piano sounds in Bark the Bones for example.

Lumastora - Inlet (2019) PL

Jed Flora, lepiej znany jako Lumastora, pokazał się już na blogu dwa lata temu albumem Bend. Dzisiaj powraca na niego niedługą, ale jakże udana EP-ką Inlet.

Flora pokazuje na nim, jak pisze, "moją nowoodkrytą ścieżkę tworzenia muzyki". Objawia ona się epickim i pełnym rozmachu ambientem przypominającym spokój, bezruch ale też doniosłość spacerów kosmicznych. A przynajmniej taki jest pierwszy kawałek Boarding On Autopilot. Dalsza część płyty jest natomiast wypełniona kontemplacyjnym, atmosferycznym soundscape'em z takimi ładnymi fragmentami jak dźwięki rozstrojonego pianina Bark the Bones na przykład.

Blushing - Blushing (2019) PL

Składający się z dwóch małżeństw (Christiny i Noego Carmonów oraz Michelle i Jake'a Sotów) teksański zespół debiutował już na blogu wraz ze swoimi pierwszym wydawnictwem Tether. Miło patrzeć jak się rozwijają, co słychać na ich pierwszym długogrającym albumie zatytułowanym po prostu Blushing.

Bardzo dzikie i surowe gitary tworzą tutaj psychodeliczne, noise popowe kompozycje potrafiące być zarówno powolnymi, przesterowanymi balladami jak i wciągającymi, energetycznymi kawałkami psychodelicznego popu (w świetnych Dream Merchants czy Control na przykład). Wokal Carmony, mającej za sobą profesjonalną edukację, jest właściwie delikatny i odpowiednio eteryczny, a linia basowa nieraz dominuje w zaskakujący sposób. 

Blushing dzisiaj pokazuje brzmienie typowe dla eterycznego, psychodelicznego shoegaze'u z południowych stanów US. A typowe tutaj nie jest żadna ujmą, gdy tworzy się takie kawałki jak Dream Merchants czy Sunshine.

Blushing - Blushing (2019) EN

Consisting of two marriages (Christina and Noe Carmona and Michelle and Jake Soto) Texas-based band debuted on the blog with their first release Tether. It's a pleasure to watch them developing on their first long play simply called Blushing.

Very wild and raw guitars create here psychedelic, noise pop compositions that can be either ballads or engaging, energetic psychedelic pop tracks (in the great Dream Merchants or Control for example). Carmona's vocal and she's been musically educated which shows, is fittingly delicate and accordingly airy while the bass line very often surprisingly dominates the whole compositions.

Today's Blushing offers the sound typical for the airy, psychedelic shoegaze from the southern US. And being typical here is no dishonour when you create songs such as Dream Merchants or Sunshine.

Unfurl - The Waking Void (2019) PL

Pochodzący z Pensylwanii Unfurl trzy lata temu debiutowało albumem Deathbed, teraz wydaje swój drugi, jakże inny, zatytułowany The Walking Void. Tak inny, że znalazł swoje miejsce na tym, nie do końca przecież metalowym blogu.

Chociaż Unfrul wyrasta z hardcore'owo-sludge'owego pnia, na nowej płycie zabawiło się nieco mieszaniem gatunków i stworzyło dzieło, które "czerpie porówno z ekstremum inspirowanego hardcorem grinding death metalu po jego przeciwieństwa, shoegaze, post-hardcore i progresywny rock psychodeliczny". I jakże frapująca jest to mieszanka! 

Z jednej strony gwałtowne i agresywne kompozycje i zdzierający głos wokalista, z drugiej, usytuowanie wokalu trochę w tle, wysunięcie ściany gitar naprzód, a to już pachnie blackgaze'owym post-metalem. Na dobre rozpoczyna się to w Post-Modern Prometheus. No i jest to nadzwyczaj trafny tytuł, biorąc pod uwagę ilość post- w opisach ich muzyki. W innych momentach, tak jak w Black Widow Hourglass, muzyka Amerykanów jest już niemal czystym, kojącym i ciągnącym się shoegaze'em spod znaku Alcest. Znakomite

Unfurl - The Waking Void (2019) EN

Hailing from z Pennsylvania is Unfurl who three years ago debuted with their Deathbed, now they give us their second, so much different album called The Walking Void. So different that it finds it place on this, not so metal after all, blog.

Although Unfrul root from the hardcore-sludge stem, on their new album, the artists played with genre-mixing and created a work that "pulls equally from the extremes of hardcore influenced grinding death metal, all to more constrained counterpoints of shoegaze, post-hardcore, and progressive psychedelic rock". And this blend is so inspiring!

On one hand, there's the rapid and aggressive compositions together with the throat-damaging vocals, on the other, the vocals are somewhat hidden, the wall of guitars before it, and it's already close to blackgaze post-metal. It's started for good in Post-Modern Prometheus. And this title is exceptionally fitting, as the number of post-'s in the genres they like is impressive. In other moments, just as in Black Widow Hourglass, the Americans' music is almost pure, soothing and long-spread shoegaze with Alcest's vibes. Impressive.

Jób - MMXIX (2019) EN

Named after Jozef Cíger-Hronský's book's title band from Slovakia is in their very first career stages and have just released a debut EP, but you can already tell, there's something intriguing about them. Let's then check MMXIX.

The album starts with post-rock typical samples with a movie dialog, still it's awesome that this time it's in Slovakian and not in English. After that the artists keep showing again and again that they know what the post-rock world is all about. In their music there's quite a lot of rock guitar and compositions based on riffs, but on the other hand, it's not overused. And finally, very well done finish in the shortest but also most intense Tak ešte ďalší október. Waiting for more.

Jób - MMXIX (2019) PL

Nazwana od tytułu książki Jozefa Cíger-Hronský'ego kapela ze Słowacji dopiero zaczyna, dopiero wydała debiutancką EP-kę, a jednak już widać, że jest w niej coś instygującego. Sprawdźcie więc MMXIX.

Płyta zaczyna się typowym dla post-rocka samplem z filmowym dialogiem, cieszy jednak, że wyjątkowo jest on po słowacku a nie po angielsku. Po nim Słowacy dalej pokazują, że wiedzą na czym polega światowy post-rock. Sporo w nim rockowej gitary i budowaniu kompozycji na riffach, ale z drugiej strony nie jest to przesadzone i układa się w swoją całość. No i w końcu udane zakończenie w najkrótszym, ale też bardzo intensywnym Tak ešte ďalší október. Czekam na więcej.

We Lost the Sea - Triumph & Disaster (2019) EN

Four years ago they made a long lasting impression on the whole post-rock world with their album Departure Songs and now We Lost the Sea go further with the new album called Triumph & Disaster.

And the musicians from the Down Below have a clear idea about this album: it's a "post-apocalyptic view on the collapse of the world told like a children’s story and illustrated through the eyes of a mother and her son." And just as the description suggests, the album begins with a heavy hit in the 15-minutes long Towers. The especially phenomenal is its middle part in which the utterly unsettling guitars are put together with almost marching sounds of piano. 

Great idea was also to make a break in the peaceful track Dust and its barely audible trumpet in the background and improvising bass and piano. The next track is surely crazier, Parting Ways, thanks to the ever changing pace, truly shows two separate paths. The album finds it finish in the solid noise of The Last Sun and quite surprisingly in Mother's Hymn with Louise Nutting's vocals making sure that the album is "a sad love letter about the collapse of the planet".

We Lost the Sea - Triumph & Disaster (2019) PL

Cztery lata temu zachwycili cały post-rockowy świat albumem Departure Songs, a dziś We Lost the Sea budują na tym sukcesie nową płytą Triumph & Disaster.

A pomysł na nią mają muzycy z Antypodów bardzo konkretny: krążek jest "post-apokaliptyczną wizją upadku świata opowiedzianą jak dziecięca bajka i pokazana z perspektywy matki i jej syna". I tak jak należało się spodziewać po opisie, album zaczyna się od mocnego uderzenia wraz z piętnastominutowym Towers. Fenomenalna jest zwłaszcza jego środkowa część, gdzie skrajnie niepokojące gitary zestawione są z marszowymi niemal dźwiękami pianina.

Znakomitym pomysłem okazał się też uspakajający wszystko Dust z jego ledwo słyszalną trąbką w tle i improwizacją na basy i pianino. Zdecydowanie bardziej szalony jest kawałek Parting Ways dzięki ustawicznym zmianom tempa, zespół faktycznie pokazał dwie, rozchodzące się drogi. Finał album znajduje w solidnym uderzeniu w The Last Sun i dość niespodziewanym Mother's Hymn z wokalem Louise Nutting potwierdzającym, ze album jest "smutnym listem miłosnym o upadku planety".

Desolate Horizons - The Vague and Terrible Uncertainty (2019) EN

Constantine Horizon's project for a long time has impressed me with its extremely oneiric atmosphere. This time, the Russian thick ambient can be listened to on the album The Vague and Terrible Uncertainty.

It consists of two very long compositions creating a strong blast of dreamy sounds so well fitting the autumn's rainy weather outside or, as the artist himself suggests, gazing at the sky. In the first track, Swapping the Doors with Ceilings; There's a Raging Storm in My Chest, most fittingly to the title, the attention is drawn by the nervous pulsating in the background making the whole thing quite an unnerving experience. The second track, on the other hand, gives us darker, more depressing and repetitive ambient soundscape.

Desolate Horizons - The Vague and Terrible Uncertainty (2019) PL

Projekt Constantine'a Horizona od dłuższego czasu imponuje mi swoją niezwykle oniryczną atmosferą. Tym razem ten rosyjski gęsty ambient można posłuchać na albumie The Vague and Terrible Uncertainty.

Składa się on z dwóch bardzo długich kompozycji dających potężnego kopa swoimi sennymi dźwiękami tak dobrze pasującymi do deszczowej jesieni za oknami albo do, jak chce sam artysta, wpatrywaniu się w niebo. W pierwszym kawałku, Swapping the Doors with Ceilings; There's a Raging Storm in My Chest, w całkiem pasujący do tytułu sposób uwagę zwracają nerwowe drgania w tle nadające całości niepokojącej atmosfery. Drugi utwór, to już mroczniejszy, bardziej dołująco jednostajny ambientowy soundscape.

Retrospecter - Wormhole (2019) EN

Retrospecter is a band from Tacoma, Washington making music from the border of the oneiric styles. It's worth checking out on the new album called Wormhole.

As the band's name suggests, the artists like to watch behind on the music from slightly different eras. They write that the band "blends delicate and dreamy shoegaze melodies with heavier passages and riffage drawn from their punk roots." I'm not super sure it's exactly what I hear on the album. I'd call it a traditional Americana and psychedelia with a strong and clear dream pop touch. Of course, there's a lot of raw guitar sounds with a very rock-like vibes, but in general, it's an album that goes in his own, slow pace filled with catch ballads.

Retrospecter - Wormhole (2019) PL

Retrospecter to zespół z waszyngtońskiej Tacomy tworzący muzykę na pograniczy onirycznych gatunków. Warto jej spróbować na płycie Wormhole.

Tak jak sugeruje nawa zespołu, artyści zapatrzeni są w muzykę z nieco poprzedniej epoki. Pisza o sobie, że "łączą delikatne i rozmarzone shoegaze'owe melodie z cięższymi pasażami i riffami zaczerpnietymi ze swoich punkowych korzeni." Nie jestem pewien, czy to dokładny opis tego, co znajduje się na płycie. Ochrzciłbym to raczej mianem tradycyjnej americany i psychodelii z bardzo wyraźnym dreampopowym dotknięciem. Oczywiście, dość chropowate gitary w bardzo rockowy sposób wszystko ubarwiają, ale ogólnie to album idzie swoim niespiesznym tempem wypełnionym chwytliwymi balladami.

Tides from Nebula - From Voodoo to Zen (2019) PL

Tides from Nebula to zespół, którego nie trzeba przedstawiać nikomu. Polacy wydali właśnie długo oczekiwaną płytę, którą zapowiadające single słyszeliśmy już blisko rok temu. Teraz możemy nasycić uszy From Voodoo to Zen.

Tidesy to z pewnością najbardziej rozpoznawalny polski postrockowy zespół za granicą i jeden z najbardziej znanych polskich zespołów w ogóle. Ich brzmienie można lubić albo nie, trzeba jednak przyznać, że jest fantastycznie unikalne, a na nowej płycie zmierza w stronę ekstremum jak nigdy dotąd. To może kontrowersyjne, ale skojarzenie gitar i futurystycznej elektroniki i takich też kompozycji przypomina mi o tym co Muse zrobiło dla rocka. I tak, ja jestem fanem. 

W muzyce Polaków dużo jest ciężkich gitar, ale co najmniej równie dużo synthowych/keyboardowych/elektronicznych fragmentów, które niosą te kompozycje, a nie są jedynie ozdobnikami. Niewiele post-rockowych kapel tak odważnie stawia na nowoczesne brzmienie. Klasą samą w sobie jest najlepszy singiel od dawna, wydany jeszcze w zeszłym roku Dopamine z jego elektryzującą, pełną napięcia, ale też niezwykłego flowu kompozycją.

Tides from Nebula - From Voodoo to Zen (2019) EN

Tides from Nebula isa band that needs no introduction. The Poles have just released a long awaited album the single to which we heard almost a year ago already. Now we can finally get a taste of the whole From Voodoo to Zen.

Tides are most certainly the best-known Polish post-rock band abroad and perhaps one of the best-known Polish bands regardless the genre. Their sound can be either liked or not, but it has to be admitted that it's always been unique and now goes straight towards the extremum. Perhaps it's going to be controversial, but it reminds me of what Muse did to rock music. And yes, I'm a fan.

In their music there's quite a lot of heavy guitars but at least the same amount of synth/keyboard/electronic fragments that are not only decorations but really lead the compositions. Not that many post-rock bands are so happy to be so bravely modern. The main thing here is the best single for a long time, released in 2018 Dopamine with its impressive, tension-filled and also with this unique flow composition.

Ultar - PANTHEON MMXIX (Instrumental version) (2019) EN

The Russian Ultar released this year a good, very metal album PANTHEON MMXIX, now they compliment it with an even better instrumental version. This way a great post-metal album was born, and I couldn't overlook it.

The Russians' music has obviously a lot of metal influences in it, especially when the mad drums  turn on. But apart of that, there's a lot of post-rock soundscapes creation on one hand filled with metal's gloomy and dangerous vibe, and on the other, developing in a traditional way. I love this atmosphere of threat that goes together with the album's main theme revolving around H. P. Lovecraft's literature.

The metal album with no vocals quite surprisingly became a really solid post-metal/rock work.

Ultar - PANTHEON MMXIX (Instrumental version) (2019) PL

Rosyjski Ultar wydał w tym roku dobry, bardzo metalowy krążek PANTHEON MMXIX, teraz dopełnia go jeszcze lepszą wersją instrumentalną. W ten sposób powstał znakomity album post-metalowy, którego nie mogłem przeoczyć.

Muzyka Rosjan ma w sobie naturalnie bardzo dużo z metalu, zwłaszcza, gdy włączają się szalone perkusje. Jednak poza tym bardzo w niej dużo post-rockowego kreowania muzycznych pejzaży nasyconych z jednej strony metalowym, ponurym i niebezpiecznym vibem, ale z drugiej rozwijających się całkiem tradycyjnie. Bardzo mi się podoba właśnie ta atmosfera zagrożenia która znakomicie oddaje temat całej płyty oscylujący wokół twórczości H.P. Lovecrafta.

Pozbawiony wokalów metalowy album stał się dość niespodziewanie bardzo solidną pozycją post-metalowa/rockową.

Calmly - Calmly (2019) EN

The second one recently, after Hexa, girls-only quartet on the blog. This time it's the "sad girls" from Calmly, who show their debut album. Finally, but it was worth waiting those 5 years. 

Calmly is a "collection of songs about the highs and lows of growing up, love, loss, sadness and celebration" played in the sad female indie rock with a great influence of dream pop atmosphere style. The album is opened by the swinging 30 that eventually turns into a very shoegaze composition, although it balances, as the whole album does, on the boarder of many genres. The main candidate for being the catchiest hit here is the calmer one, but not without cheek, Hallelujah Heartache - a bit of ballad, a bit shoegazingly loud, very catchy track.

The further you listen, the more slower ballads there are, but finally it gets to the very much traditionally rocking Used Up where some surprisingly raw guitars appear, once again stirring the genre blend served by the Australians.

Drugi po Heksie ściśle kobiecy kwartet pojawiający się ostatnio na blogu. Tym razem "smutne dziewczyny" z Calmly pokazują wreszcie swój debiutancki album. Wreszcie, ale opłacało się czekać te pięć lat.

Calmly to "kolekcja piosenek o dobrych i złych stronach dorastania, miłości, straty, smutku i celebracji" zagrane w stylu smutnego kobiecego indie rocka z dużą dawką około dreampopowej atmosfery. Płytę rozpoczyna rozkołysane 30 zamieniające się w końcu w bardzo shoegaze'ową kompozycję, choć wcześniej, tak jak cała płyta balansuje na granicy gatunków. Żelaznym kandydatem do przeboju jest nieco spokojniejsza, ale nie pozbawiona pazura Hallelujah Heartache - trochę ballada, trochę shoegaze'owo głośna i bardzo trafiająca w ucho kompozycja.

Im dalej w płytę tym więcej balladowych, niespiesznych kawałków, aż w końcu w bardzo tradycyjnie rockowym Used Up pojawiają się zaskakująco surowe gitary jeszcze raz mieszając w tym kociołku gatunków jakim jest debiut Australijek.

The Owl Who Married a Goose - Zeit, fliegst du davon (2019) EN

There's not many things that can top the mix of ambient and neoclassicism when it comes to atmosphere. This is exactly what the German project The Owl Who Married a Goose offers the audience. And since it does it so well, I couldn't miss on the bog the new album Zeit, fliegst du davon.

The German's music is filled with strings and strings' way of building the atmosphere that is a bit gloomy, very much not in hurry and extremely engaging (Addendum!). Another impressive thing is the way the piano works here, especially when it appears after the unnerving droning passages (in the double track called Zeit, fliegst du davon nimmst du mich mit). And finally, there's also the fascinating and poignant track Amadeus with the recitation of Allen Ginsberg's poem Howl.

Niewiele rzeczy potrafi przebić klimatem połączenie ambientu i neoklasyki. To właśnie serwuje słuchaczom niemiecki projekt The Owl Who Married a Goose, a ze robi to znakomicie, musiał znaleźć się na blogu ze swoim nowym albumem Zeit, fliegst du davon.

W muzyce Niemca dużo jest smyczków i smyczkowego budowania atmosfery nieco ponurej, bardzo niespiesznej i wybitnie wciągającej. (Addendum!). Wrażenie robi też gra na pianinie, tym bardziej, gdy pojawia się po dronująco melancholijnych pasażach (podwójny utwór Zeit, fliegst du davon nimmst du mich mit). W końcu jest też fascynujący, niepokojący kawałek Amadeus z recytowanym poematem Howl Allena Ginsberga.

Zeit, fliegst du davon kosztuje tyle, ile chcesz zapłacić.
