Leonard Donat is very well-known for everyone reading this blog. He has been a guest here for couple occasions as Vlimmer, alone and cooperating with other artists. This time though, he decided to remove his white mask and show his true face. The question is: why?
Donat gets rid of another of his characteristic elements - the funeral and otherworldly vocal. This time, his music reminds me more of foggy landscapes than pictures from the purgatory. No wonder the first track is entitled "Fog Horn Deer Trap". On the other hand, the pulsating keys hidden somewhere far in the background remind of the good, old Vlimmer.
I got goosebumps when the third track, "Alteglofsheim Night Pedal", started with its extremely subtle drone leading the way for the rest of the sounds sounds like barely noticeable night rain lulling everyone to sleep.
"Deer Traps" costs 4 EUR.
